Firefighting is the act of attempting to prevent the spread of and extinguish significant unwanted fires in buildings, vehicles, and woodland areas. A firefighter suppresses fires to protect lives, property and the environment. Our firefighters undergo a high degree of technical training to best serve our community. 

Some occasions require the Fire Department to respond to assist the Ambulance. Emergency Medical Responders (EMR) provide initial emergency care first on the scene and support patient care while waiting for the ambulance to arrive.  

CTFD Personnel are often at the station attending to basic station maintenance needs, as well as routine apparatus & equipment checks.
